When I was in the 10th grade, I attended the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Conference in Guelph, ON. The goal of this conference is to inspire and develop a global community to lead a life of leadership, service, and innovation. It was on this day that I made a commitment to be the catalyst for positive change in my home, my workplace, and in my community.
In the years following, I continued my journey of motivating and empowering individuals to create positive change. The World Leadership Conference further reinforced these notions and helped to solidify my core values by providing me with the opportunity to come together with people from around the world with the common goal of bettering our society.
I cannot believe that an entire segment of the population is discriminated against simply because of sexual orientation. I will strive to fight for the right to help those in need. The Canadian Blood Society routinely faces donor shortages and we need to work together to fight this issue.
Recently, I came out as a gay man to my friends and family. They have been nothing but supportive and I'm grateful for every last one of them. As a result though, I have been barred from donating blood.
Enough from me though, I want to hear from you! So if you have anything you're passionate about, if you want to know more about my platform, or if you just want to talk, feel free to contact me!
